Bowling Green, Ohio - The University of Findlay women's tennis team was back in action on Friday, Sep. 26 and Saturday, Sep. 27 at the Bowling Green State University Hidden Duals.    Participating in this event along with the Oilers and BGSU was Butler and Wayne State.  This round robin two-day event contained both singles and doubles matches between the four teams present.
 
The Oilers opened their strong weekend of play with a strong performance in their singles matches with BGSU.  They would take five out of the seven matches in their opener.  Leading the Orange and Black was Maria Batinic.  The freshman would take a victory with scores of 6-1 and 6-0.  Also with a strong showing was Ivana Gombitova, who defeated her opponent 6-0 and 6-3.
 
Findlay would keep up their strong play in day two as well, highlighted by an impressive performance against Butler in singles.  The Oilers would take all but one of the seven matches against the Bulldogs.  Leading the Oilers was Ivanova Lucero, who took down her opponent 6-4 and 7-6.  Another notable would be Audrey Ouellet, who won 6-2 and 6-3.

Although this event was sanctioned by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), scores from the event will not affect the teams' records. They will, however, affect individual players' records. 
 
The Oilers will be back in action on Friday, Oct. 3 for the first day of play of the ITA Midwest Regional.  The three-day weekend event will take place in Grand Rapids at Davenport University.
