The Tournament
The University of Findlay wrestling team is set to compete in the 2026 Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Wrestling Championship, marking the seventh edition of the event since wrestling was introduced as a championship sport in the 2018-19 season. The one-day tournament will take place Saturday, Jan. 31 inside the Brescia University's Moore Center, with Kentucky Wesleyan College serving as the host institution.
At the championship event, each institution is permitted to enter up to two student-athletes per weight class. The tournament will follow standard scoring guidelines and will be contested in a double-elimination format. Match winners will earn points that contribute to the overall team championship standings; however, only the top-finishing wrestler from each institution in each weight class will count toward the team's total points. Teams can accumulate points in two ways throughout the tournament: bonus points and advancement points. Bonus points are awarded for winning a match by a significant margin of victory, such as by fall, technical fall, or major decision. Advancement points are earned through match victories, with wrestlers receiving one point for each win in the championship bracket and a half point for each win in the consolation bracket.
