Oilers Grind Out 60–57 G-MAC Road Victory at Cedarville

Cedarville, Ohio — The University of Findlay women's basketball team delivered a resilient performance Saturday afternoon, earning a 60–57 Great Midwest Athletic Conference road victory over Cedarville at the Callan Athletic Center. The Oilers improve to 12-8 overall and 8-5 in league play, while the Yellow Jackets fall to 8-12 (3-9 G-MAC).

Findlay opened the game with strong defensive energy, holding Cedarville to just eight points in the first quarter while building a 13–8 advantage. Senior Alyssa Ziehler set the tone early with dominant work on the glass, while junior Allie Stockton consistently attacked the paint to establish early momentum.

After Cedarville briefly edged ahead late in the second quarter, the Oilers responded with their strongest stretch of the game coming out of halftime. Findlay shot 7-of-16 from the field and 4-of-8 from three-point range in the third quarter, outscoring the Yellow Jackets 21–12 to regain control.

Senior Ariyah Douglas ignited the third-quarter surge, knocking down three three-pointers in the period, including back-to-back triples that pushed the Oilers' lead to nine. Stockton added a timely three-pointer of her own along with multiple finishes at the rim.

Cedarville made one final push in the fourth quarter, briefly taking the lead midway through the period, but Findlay answered with poise. Douglas drilled a clutch three-pointer at the 4:19 mark to swing the lead back in the Oilers' favor, followed by a MacKenzie Schulz layup and Ziehler free throws down the stretch.

Findlay sealed the win at the free-throw line, going 4-for-4 in the final 30 seconds. The Oilers finished with a narrow 42–41 rebounding advantage, forced 13 turnovers, and received 15 points from the bench in the tightly contested matchup.

Stockton led Findlay with a game-high 17 points on 5-of-12 shooting, adding nine rebounds and four steals, including a crucial late takeaway in the final 30 seconds. Douglas finished with 15 points off the bench, shooting 4-of-5 from beyond the arc to provide a major scoring spark.

Ziehler turned in a strong all-around performance with 11 points, eight rebounds, and three steals, including a go-ahead jumper with just over one minute remaining. Schulz contributed six points and six rebounds, while Taylor Stanley added eight points and two assists.

The Oilers look to carry their momentum forward as they return home to face Ursuline on February 5 at 5:30 p.m. in Findlay, Ohio.
