Findlay Rolls to 74–61 Win Over Tiffin | Extends Eight-Game Win Streak

Findlay, Ohio — The University of Findlay women's basketball team turned a tight early contest into a dominant Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) victory, defeating Tiffin 74–61 on Saturday, February 7, inside the Croy Physical Education Center. With the win, the Oilers improve to 14–8 overall and 10–5 in G-MAC play, while Tiffin drops to 9–13 overall and 4–11 in league action.

The opening quarter was a defensive battle, with neither team finding a consistent offensive rhythm. Findlay held a slim 13–12 edge after one, highlighted by senior Alyssa Ziehler's presence in the paint as she finished through contact and controlled the glass.

The game shifted decisively in the second quarter as the Oilers locked in defensively. Findlay limited Tiffin to just six points in the period while forcing multiple turnovers that led to transition opportunities. Senior Ariyah Douglas provided a spark off the bench with aggressive drives and perimeter shooting, while junior Allie Stockton knocked down a three-pointer and converted at the free-throw line to help push the lead to 32–18 at halftime.

Findlay continued to build separation in the third quarter, outscoring the Dragons 20–16.

Stockton opened the half with a tip-in and followed with a pull-up jumper, while junior MacKenzie Schulz connected from deep in transition to stretch the lead to 16. Ziehler controlled the interior on both ends, recording blocks and second-chance points as the Oilers entered the fourth quarter ahead 52–34.

Tiffin made its strongest push in the final frame, shooting over 50 percent from the field and knocking down five three-pointers. Megan Campbell led the surge for the Dragons, but Findlay answered with timely three-pointers from Douglas, strong finishes through traffic by junior Ella Mescher, and efficient free-throw shooting. The Oilers went 9-for-10 from the line in the fourth quarter to seal the win.

As a team, the Oilers shot 22-of-59 (37.3%) from the field and 7-of-22 (31.8%) from three-point range. Findlay made the most of its opportunities at the free-throw line, converting 23-of-26 attempts (88.5%), and turned defense into offense with 21 points off turnovers while limiting Tiffin to 15. The Oilers also got a strong lift from their bench, which accounted for 25 points, and controlled the boards with a 37–32 rebounding edge.

Douglas paced all scorers with 17 points, knocking down three three-pointers, while Stockton posted 14 points and a game-high 10 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season. Ziehler followed with 12 points and 10 boards to secure her eighth double-double of the year—and second straight—adding three blocks, while junior Taylor Stanley chipped in nine points. As a team, Findlay controlled the glass with a 37–32 rebounding advantage.

Now tied for fourth in the G-MAC standings, Findlay will look to keep its eight-game winning streak rolling when the Oilers travel to Midland, Michigan, to take on league-leading Northwood on February 12 at 5:30 pm.
