Findlay, Ohio- The University of Findlay softball team returned to the win column on Saturday, March 14, sweeping Davenport University at Ammons Field on the campus of Findlay High School. The two teams, who previously met at the Space Coast Spring Games, battled through a cold and overcast afternoon as Findlay came away with a 12-4 win in game one before securing an exciting 6-5 walk-off victory in the eighth inning of game two. With the wins, Findlay improves to 14-5 on the season while Davenport falls to 4-16.

Game One (W 12-4)
The Oilers and Panthers traded runs in the first inning before both teams were held scoreless in the second. Meghan Heinsman followed with a sacrifice fly to extend the lead to 4-1. Davenport struck first in the top of the opening inning, but Findlay answered in the bottom half as senior Alexys Antal hit a home run and sophomore Meghan Heinsman followed with an RBI double to give the Oilers a 2-1 lead.

In the third inning, the two teams traded runs before Davenport evened the score at 3-3 heading into the sixth. Findlay responded in the bottom of the inning as freshman Jenna Dee doubled to right field, driving in two runs to give the Oilers a 5-3 lead. Needing three outs to secure the win, Davenport answered with a two-run home run to tie the game at 5-5 and ultimately force extra innings.

In the eighth inning, senior Kayla Dykin shut down Davenport in the top half, striking out two batters looking before inducing a groundout to end the Panthers' threat. In the bottom half, senior Annika Bredel delivered the game-winner, ripping a single up the middle to score the winning run and give Findlay the walk-off victory.

Dee led the team with two RBI off her double, while Antal, Heinsman, and junior Anna Jones each recorded extra-base hits. Junior Joslynne Frazier scored a team-high two runs.
