Lacrosse Make Statement Against Walsh | Win 12-6

Findlay, Ohio - The University of Findlay lacrosse team used a dominant first half to secure a 12-6 victory over Walsh on Saturday, March 21. The Oilers improve to 4-4 overall and remain unbeaten in conference play at 2-0, while Walsh falls to 2-5 overall and 1-1 in the G-MAC.

After falling behind 2-0 early, the Oilers responded with four straight goals to close the first quarter. Findlay continued to shine on offense and dominate with six goals in the second quarter, taking a commanding 10-2 lead into halftime. 

The Oilers controlled much of the game, outshooting Walsh 26-18 and holding advantages in ground balls (20-15) and clears (15-of-18). 

Findlay extended its lead to 12-2 in the third quarter before Walsh added four late goals in the final period.

Findlay's offense was led by junior Karissa Allbright, who scored a game-high five goals, while junior Rebecca Chmiel added three. Sophomore Mylee Cain contributed two goals, and both sophomore Amelia Dillon and freshman Carrigan McCormack found the back of the net once. 

Freshman Lauren Larochelle recorded two assists, while fellow freshman Zoe Cuvo added one.

In goal, sophomore Caroline Weber earned the win with five saves in the first half, while sophomore Josie Owens added four saves in relief.

The Oilers will look to continue their win streak when they face Lewis at home on Wednesday, March 25.
