Box Score Garden City, N.Y. - The twelfth- ranked University of Findlay women's tennis team defeated 21st- ranked Adelphi University in a dominant 6-1 win on the road.
The Oilers won all three doubles matches to claim the first point of the match. The No. 1 pairing of
Anamarija Kovacevic and
Audrey Ouellet won 6-2, with the No. 3 pairing of
Polina Zaytseva and
Maria Batinic also winning their match 6-2. Rounding out the doubles matches, the No. 2 pairing of
Ivanova Lucero and
Valentina Salek won 6-3.
The Oilers continued their dominant performance in the singles matches by winning five out of the six matches. Out of the five singles matches, only one Oiler victory from
Polina Zaytseva required a third set.
Maria Batinic won with results of 6-2 and 6-4 in the No. 2 singles match.
Valentina Salek defeated her opponent 6-0 and 6-1 to continue the Oilers dominant singles performance. At the No. 5 spot,
Audrey Ouellet also won in two sets with scores of 6-2 and 6-4. Rounding out the dominant singles performance,
Ivanova Lucero won the sixth point for the Oilers with 6-0 and 6-1 set wins.
The women's tennis team improve to 6-1 on the season with the win. They will be back in action against Davenport on Sunday, March 15 when they return to Findlay for a home match.
