Second-Half Surge Lifts Oilers Past Thomas More

Findlay, Ohio – The University of Findlay women's lacrosse team remained unbeaten in conference play with a 13–9 victory over Thomas More University on Saturday, April 11, at home on Senior Day. Findlay improved to 8-6 overall and a perfect 6-0 in G-MAC play, using a strong second-half surge to pull away in a back-and-forth contest. The Saints carried that momentum into the second quarter, building a 6-4 lead midway through the period behind a strong offensive effort from Alex Nunn. Findlay responded late in the half, as Chmiel and sophomore Cora West each found the back of the net to even the score at 7-7 heading into halftime.

Out of the break, Findlay took control.

In the final quarter, Findlay continued to create separation. West added another goal early, while sophomore Amelia Dillon and McCormack each scored to secure the 13-9 victory.

Chmiel led the Oilers with five goals, while West added four. McCormack contributed two goals, and Cain and Dillon each scored once. Junior Karissa Allbright recorded an assist.

Defensively, Findlay limited Thomas More to just two second-half goals after allowing seven in the opening half. The Oilers also held a 19-15 edge in ground balls.
