Men's Golf Sits Fourth After Day One at Wright State Invitational

Springboro, Ohio – The No. 38 University of Findlay men's golf team opened play at the Wright State Invitational, hosted by Wright State at Heatherwoode Golf Course, on Sunday, April 12. The Oilers, one of just two Division II teams in the field, are competing against a strong Division I lineup.

Heatherwoode Golf Course, a 6,950-yard, par-71 layout, provided a challenging test. Findlay posted team rounds of 292 (+8) and 284 (E) to sit in fourth place after the opening day.

Host school Wright State University sits in first place after an impressive day one total of 24-under par.

Junior Colin Schadek and senior Zach Miller led the way in the first round, each carding a 72 (+1). Schadek followed with an impressive 70 (-1) in round two, while Miller added a 77 (+6).

Senior Luke Metzger delivered another strong performance, opening with a 73 (+2) before firing a team-best 68 (-3) in the second round.

Freshman Ross Dietz recorded rounds of 75 (+4) and 72 (+1), while freshman Luke Siefker posted scores of 75 (+4) and 79 (+8). Sophomore Cahle Roth rounded out the lineup with rounds of 78 (+7) and 74 (+3).
