Richmond, Ky. – The University of Findlay men's golf team turned in a dominant performance to capture a season-best victory at the Findlay Spring Invitational, held at Boone's Trace National Golf Course. The 54-hole event featured a strong regional and national field, including #25 Wayne State, #35 Missouri–St. Louis, #42 Missouri S&T, and #43 Hillsdale.
Ranked #46, the Oilers fired rounds of 285 (-3), 277 (-11), and a season-best 272 (-16), the third-lowest 18-hole score in program history. Findlay finished at 30-under par (834), marking the second-lowest 54-hole total in team history and securing their third tournament win of the season.
#35 Missouri–St. Louis finished second at 13-under par, followed by #42 Missouri S&T in third at 5-under.
Sophomore Cahle Roth led the way with an exceptional three-round performance, carding 69 (-3), 71 (-1), and 67 (-5). His runner-up finish marks the best of his collegiate career.
Senior Luke Metzger surged in the final round with a 67 (-5), finishing at 5-under par and placing seventh overall.
Freshman Ross Dietz continued his steady play with rounds of 72 (E), 70 (-2), and 68 (-4), earning a tie for fourth alongside junior Colin Schadek, who recorded the team's lowest round of the tournament with a 66 (-6) in round two. Senior Zach Miller rounded out the lineup with a final-round 70 (-2), finishing 16th individually.
Competing as individuals, junior Jacob Marohn posted rounds of 75, 76, and 75, while freshman Luke Siefker improved each round with scores of 78, 75, and 73.
The Oilers return to action on Monday, March 30, co-hosting the Findianapolis Intercollegiate with the University of Indianapolis at Chariot Run Golf Club in Laconia, Ind.
