Men’s Golf Goes Back-to-Back-to-Back at Findianapolis Intercollegiate | Metzger Earns Medalist Honors

Laconia, Ind.- The University of Findlay men's golf team captured the Findianapolis Intercollegiate title on Tuesday, March 31. Co-hosted with Indianapolis, the event was played at the 7,169-yard, par-72 Chariot Run Golf Club. The Oilers posted rounds of 292, 297, and 287 for a 54-hole total of 876, climbing two spots on the leaderboard to edge Ferris State by two strokes.

This marks Findlay's third consecutive win, following titles at the Findlay Spring Invite last week and the SVSU Invitational two weeks prior. It is the program's first three-event winning streak since the fall of 2019, when the Oilers claimed victories at the Ohio Cup, Don Underwood Invitational, and G-MAC Fall Preview.

Findlay's Luke Metzger claimed medalist honors with a strong closing round of 69 (-3), finishing with a 54-hole total of 214 (-2) after rounds of 73 (+1) and 72 (E) on day one. Ranked eighth in the region, the victory marks his second of the season following his title at the SVSU Men's Invitational two weeks ago and the third of his career.

Sophomore Cahle Roth joined Metzger in the top-10, tying for sixth after rounds of 72 (E), 76 (+4), and 71 (-1) for a 54-hole total of 219 (+3). Junior Colin Schadek finished tied for 15th at 223 (+7), posting rounds of 76 (+4), 76 (+4), and 71 (-1).

Findlay will be back in action April 12 and April 13 as they conclude the regular season at the Wright State Invitational in Springboro, Ohio.
