Women’s Golf Opens Play at Purdue Boilermaker Spring Classic | 11th Place

West Lafayette, Ind. – The No. 4 University of Findlay women's golf team opened play at the Boilermaker Spring Classic, hosted by Purdue University at Birck Boilermaker Golf Course, on Sunday, April 12.

Competing as the only Division II program in a field filled with top Division I teams from conferences such as the Big Ten, Big 12, and Big East, the Oilers turned in rounds of 307 (+19) and 308 (+20) to sit in 11th place after day one.

Senior Ellie Yeazell led the way for Findlay, posting the team's low round in both sessions with scores of 75 (+3) and 76 (+4).

Sophomore Gracie James and senior Ashleigh Duflo followed closely behind in the opening round, each carding a 77 (+5). Duflo's round was highlighted by an eagle on the par-5 16th hole. Both players matched scores of 77 (+5) again in round two, finishing the day at +10.

Senior Hayley Dye recorded consistent play with rounds of 78 (+6) in both rounds.

Sophomore Avery Thompson posted scores of 82 (+10) and 81 (+9), while freshman Emma Myers rounded out the lineup with rounds of 80 (+8) and 83 (+11).
