Box Score Findlay, Ohio- The University of Findlay women's tennis team, ranked tenth in the nation, delivered an absolute masterclass on Sunday, April 12, completely shutting out the Ursuline College Arrows in a dominant 7-0 victory. Findlay didn't drop a single game the entire day, putting together a truly dominant performance by winning every doubles and singles match with perfect 6-0 scores across the board, picking up their fifteenth straight win. With the win, Findlay improves to 16-1 and a perfect 8-0 in Great Midwest Athleteic Conference (G-MAC) play. They also conclude their home slate at a perfect 7-0. Meanwhile, Ursuline falls to 1-10 on the year and 0-7 in league play.
Setting the tone early in doubles play, the Oilers swept all three courts in swift, flawless fashion to secure the opening point. The duo of
Ivanova Lucero and Maria
Valentina Salek Rivero were the first to finish at No. 2 doubles, cruising to a quick 6-0 win. They were followed closely by
Maria Batinic and
Ivana Gombitova, who locked down another 6-0 victory at the No. 3 spot. The top-flight pairing of
Anamarija Kovacevic and
Audrey Ouellet then overpowered their opponents 6-0 to complete the doubles sweep.
Carrying that energy into singles play, Findlay continued their complete dominance, winning every single set 6-0 on all six courts.
Audrey Ouellet was the first off the court at No. 3 singles, making quick work of her opponent, and
Ivanova Lucero quickly followed suit at No. 4 with her own double-bagel victory. Dominant performances continued right down the lineup from
Maria Batinic at No. 2,
Kyna Decruy at No. 6, and
Anamarija Kovacevic at the No. 1 spot, who all dispatched their opponents without dropping a game. Finally,
Ivana Gombitova provided the exclamation point at No. 5 singles, wrapping up the perfect day with a final 6-0, 6-0 finish.
Findlay will be back in action for their final regular season contest on Saturday, April 18 as they travel to Tiffin, Ohio to take on the Dragons.
