Oilers Dominate Ursuline 16-1 in Road Victory

Pepper Pike, Ohio- The University of Findlay lacrosse team rolled to a 16-1 road win at Ursuline College on Thursday, April 2. The Oilers controlled the game from start to finish, earning their 12th straight win over the Arrows and extending a dominant run that has seen Findlay outscore Ursuline 244-54 since 2014. With the win, the Oilers improve to 5-5 overall and remain unbeaten at 3-0 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) play, while Ursuline drops to 1-10 overall and 0-5 in the league.

Findlay wasted no time getting on the board as sophomore Amelia Dillon scored in the 12th minute to open the game. The Oilers added five more goals in the period to take a 6-0 lead after 15 minutes.

They struck again just 20 seconds into the second period on a goal from freshman Zoe Cuvo, and another at the 12:49 mark pushed the lead to 8-0. Ursuline answered with its lone goal of the night, but Findlay responded by closing the half on a run to take a 12-1 advantage into the break.

The Oilers eased off in the second half, adding four more goals over the final 30 minutes to secure the 16-1 win.

Amelia Dillon led the way for the Orange and Black with three goals on six shots. Sophomore Breeann Talabac, along with freshmen Ella Predina and Zoe Cuvo, each added two goals, while Cuvo also dished out a game-high three assists.

Freshman Anna Woods and Breeann Talabac each picked up three ground balls, with Woods also adding three caused turnovers. Karissa Allbright finished with three draw controls.

Findlay will be back in action Friday, April 3 as they take on Lake Erie College on the road at 1pm.
