Softball Headed to NCAA DII Playoffs

Indianapolis, Ind.- Nine days after winning the program's first conference championship tournament, the University of Findlay softball team gathered in the Ralph & Gladys Koehler Fitness and Recreation Complex to watch the NCAA Division II Selection Show which aired on Monday, May 11.

The Oilers, which were ranked third in the previous regional ranking, earned the number three seed in the Midwest Region bracket and will be heading to Lebanon, Illinois, the second seed, for a first round game where they will face Missouri S&T.

This is Findlay's second consecutive trip to the NCAA Division II Playoffs and marks the program's third trip to the tournament, which includes 2025 and 2022.

Opposite the Oilers and Miners is the host McKendree which will play the seventh-seeded Rockhurst. The four-team double-elimination tournament will conclude on Saturday, May 16 with the winner advancing to play a best-of-three series against the winner of the region's other pod that includes the host (1) Indianapolis taking on (8) Tiffin and (4) Saginaw Valley State vs (5) Ashland.

Head Coach Dani Lowe commented, "We're excited and ready for this next step. We believe we can win. We have the talent, we play with grit, and when we set a goal, we fight to achieve it."
 
The NCAA DII finals will be held May 28 - June 3 at Frost Stadium at Warner Park in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Information such as game time and ticket sales will become available shortly. All such information will be released at findlayoilers.com.
