Men's Soccer Picked Fourth in Preseason Coaches Poll

Indianapolis, Ind. - The University of Findlay men's soccer team was selected fourth in the 2026 Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Coaches Poll, which was released Wednesday, Aug. 12. Findlay received 72 points and did not receive a first-place vote. Tiffin led the poll, followed by Cedarville and Kentucky Wesleyan.

The Oilers are coming off a 2025 season in which they finished 9-6-4 overall and 8-3-3 in G-MAC play. Findlay earned its third consecutive trip to the conference tournament, where the No. 4-seeded Oilers defeated Thomas More in a penalty-kick shootout before falling to top-seeded Tiffin in the semifinal round.

The 2026 season marks the 39th year with head coach Andy Smyth at the helm of the program. Smyth enters the season with a career record of 316-364-67 and will look to build on the momentum from just two seasons ago, when he guided the Oilers to a G-MAC Tournament Championship and an NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 appearance.

Findlay will open the 2026 season on Thursday, Aug. 27, when the Oilers travel to West Virginia Wesleyan for a 2 p.m. kickoff.
