Tiffin, OH – The University of Findlay men's soccer team continued conference play in Tiffin, OH against the Tiffin Dragons on September 17, 2026. The match ended with each team sharing a point in a 1-1 tie after a hard fought contest, moving the Oilers to 4-1-1 (1-1-1) and the Dragons to 3-0-3 (2-0-1).
The Oilers opened up the scoring early in the match against the nationally ranked Dragons from the right foot of senior
Andre Sardinha that would find the bottom left corner of the net in the 10th minute of play, giving Findlay a 1-0 lead. Fifth year
Tom Middleham would assist the goal, his second assist of the year.
The Oilers' lead would hold for just six minutes, as the Dragons would answer with a goal in the 16th minute of play to level the match 1-1. This remaining 74 minutes of the match would not see another goal, concluding the contest in a 1-1 tie.
In what was a very even matchup, the Dragons led the Oilers 13-10 in total shots, while the Oilers lead 5-2 in corner kicks. Junior midfielder
Tyson Woodring led the team in shots, with three of the ten recorded on the day. Senior goalkeeper
Ethan Hensley collected three saves on the afternoon.
The Oilers return to play once again on the road in Columbus, OH on Saturday, September 19, as they will be taking on the Ohio Dominican Panthers at 1 pm.
