Tiffin, Ohio — The University of Findlay women's soccer team earned a 3-1 victory over Tiffin on Thursday, September 24, returning to the win column and improving to 5-2-2 overall and 2-1-2 in G-MAC play.

The game featured an eventful opening five minutes. Less than two minutes into the match, freshman Adyson Brown drew a penalty kick for the Oilers, which fifth-year midfielder Raegan Smith converted to give Findlay an early 1-0 lead. Tiffin responded just two minutes later, leveling the score.

Findlay came out strong in the second half, scoring two unanswered goals. Sophomore Addison Williams earned the Oilers' second penalty of the game and converted from the spot to put Findlay back in front. Junior Megan Hollar added an insurance goal later in the half, with senior Sofia Cetrone providing the assist to put the game to bed.

Findlay controlled the attack throughout the match, out shooting Tiffin 17-4 and holding a 7-3 advantage in shots on goal. Smith recorded three shots, including two on target, while Williams added two shots with one on goal.

Fifth year goalkeeper Cat Graves played all 90 minutes and came up with a crucial penalty-kick save in the first half to keep the Oilers level. She added another save in the second half to help secure the victory.

The Oilers will look to build on the win when they return home to host Lake Erie on Thursday, October 1, at 4 p.m.
