Box Score The University of Findlay men's basketball team, ranked first in the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) poll, ran away with an 80-58 win over Saginaw Valley State University on Saturday, January 31 in University Center, Michigan. The victory gives the Oilers an 18-0 record with a 14-0 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).
The Oilers and senior forward Josh Bostic came out smoking in the first half as they took a 48-31 lead at the break. The big first half was fueled by the All-American's 23 points in the opening stanza.
Bostic finished the game with a career-high tying 31 points and 13 rebounds.
He made 9-of-17 field goal attempts, was 4-of-6 from three point range and also added four steals in the contest.
Sophomore guard Nathan Hyde and junior guard Marcus Parker also reached double figures with 12 and ten points respectively.
The Cardinals were led by Avery Stevenson and Dante Williams who scored 18 and 16 points respectively.
As a team, Findlay shot 47.3 percent (26-of-55) from the floor and drilled 10-of-21 (47.6%) of their three point tries.
They also hit 18-of-24 (75%) of their attempts from the charity stripe and out-rebounded the Cardinals 41-27 on the afternoon.
Findlay will be back in action again on Thursday, February 5 when they host Grand Valley State University at 7:30 p.m. in Croy Gymnasium.
