Box Score The University of Findlay men's basketball team, ranked ninth in the latest National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) poll, was defeated 61-55 by Lake Superior State University on Saturday, December 5 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. The loss gives the Oilers a 3-3 record on the season with a 0-2 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).
As a team, the Oilers hit 44.9 percent (22-of-49) of their attempts from the floor but connected on only 3-of-11 (27.3%) of their three point tries.
Findlay held the Lakers to a mere 36.7 percent (18-of-49) shooting clip but they splashed 9-of-26 (34.6%) three point tries and made eight more (16-8) free throws than the Oilers.
Senior guard Marcus Parker had 13 points on 5-of-11 shooting while freshman guard Aaron Robinson had nine.
Junior guard Nathan Hyde and sophomore forward Greg Avery added eight points apiece in the loss.
Scott Perkins led the Lakers with a game-high 24 points.
The Oilers will be back in action again on Thursday, December 10 when they host Ferris State University at 7:30 p.m. inside Croy Gymnasium.
