Box Score The University of Findlay men's basketball team, ranked first in the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) poll, defeated Michigan Technological University 64-36 on Thursday, February 19 in Houghton, Michigan. The victory gives the Oilers a 23-0 record on the season with a 19-0 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).
The Oilers got off to a great start by taking a 33-12 advantage at the half and then continued it in the second half as Findlay held their opponent to a season-low 36 points.
As a team, Findlay shot 50.0 percent (23-of-46) from the field and forced Michigan Tech into 16 turnovers.
In comparison, the Oilers defense held the Huskies to a mere 26.2 percent (11-of-42) shooting clip and were forced into only five turnovers on the night by Tech.
All-American senior forward Josh Bostic led the way with 20 points while senior forward Morgan Lewis tied a school record after hitting all eight of his field goal attempts en route to 17 points.
Lewis also added a team-high seven rebounds.
Senior center Lee Roberts totaled nine points and three blocks while juior guard Marcus Parker had eight points, four steals and three assists in the win.
The Oilers will be back in action again on Saturday, February 21 when they face Northern Michigan University at 3:00 p.m. in Marquette, Michigan.
