Box Score The University of Findlay men's basketball team, ranked first in the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) poll, defeated Northern Michigan University 81-68 on Saturday, February 21 in Marquette, Michigan. The win gives the Oilers a 24-0 record on the season with a 20-0 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).
As a team, the Oilers shot 50.0 percent (26-of-52) from the floor and connected on 8-of-15 (53.3%) of their three point tries.
They also forced 18 turnovers and out-rebounded the Wildcats 33-23.
Junior guard Marcus Parker led the way with a career-high 22 points on 7-of-10 shooting.
He also tied a career-high with four triples in six attempts and dished out four assists in the win.
Sophomore guard Nathan Hyde added 15 points while senior center Lee Roberts recorded a double-double with 12 points and a career-high 13 rebounds.
Senior forward Morgan Lewis also reached double figures with 11 points while All-American senior forward Josh Bostic accumulated seven points, four rebounds, four steals and three assists.
The Wildcats were led by Marc Renelique's 21 points.
The Oilers will be back in action again on Tuesday, February 24 when they host Central State University in non-conference action beginning at 7:30 p.m. in Croy Gymnasium.
