#1 Oilers Roll Past Central State 87-69

The University of Findlay men's basketball team, ranked first in the latest National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) poll, defeated Central State University 87-69 on Tuesday, February 24 in Croy Gymnasium. The victory gives the Oilers a 25-0 record on the year and extends their regular season home winning streak to 71 games.

Findlay jumped out early by taking a 38-18 advantage at the break which was more than enough cushion to secure the victory even though they gave up a season-high 51 points in the second half.

As a team, the Oilers shot 52.7 percent (29-of-55) from the floor and out-rebounded the Marauders 40-30.

Findlay's defense also forced 14 turnovers and held Central State to a 39.1 percent (25-of-64) shooting clip.

All-American senior forward Josh Bostic led the way with 20 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists and three steals.

Bostic hit 6-of-14 shots from the field and drained 8-of-9 free throw attempts en route to his fourth double-double of the year.

Senior forward Morgan Lewis also had strong game for Findlay, scoring 17 points to go along with nine rebounds, two assists and a pair of steals.

Senior center Lee Roberts added 12 points, five rebounds and three blocks while sophomore forward Tyler Sparks came off the bench to provide 12 points on 4-of-6 shooting.

The Marauders were led by Robert Harris' 22 points.

The Oilers will be back in action again on Thursday, February 26 when they host Ashland University in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) action beginning at 7:30 p.m. in Croy Gymnasium.
