Box Score The University of Findlay men's basketball, ranked 23rd in the latest National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) poll, flew past the Cardinals of Saginaw Valley State University on Saturday, January 30 as they won 82-51 in Croy Gymnasium. The victory gives the Oilers a 16-3 record on the season with a 12-2 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).
As a team, the Oilers shot 50.9 percent (29-of-57) from the floor and limited the Cardinals to a mere 31.5 percent (17-of-54) shooting clip. They also hit 9-of-20 (45.0%) of their attempts from behind the three point line and scored 23 points off of 16 Saginaw Valley State turnovers.
Junior guard Nathan Hyde scored 21 points on 8-of-12 shooting to go along with six rebounds, three steals and two assists.
Freshman guard Aaron Robinson added a career-high 19 points and six rebounds on 8-of-11 shooting while freshman forward Jack Smith came off the bench to chip in 14 points, five rebounds and three assists.
The Cardinals were led by Keithan Jackson and Sean Romsek who each scored eight points in the game.
Findlay will take the floor again on Thursday, February 4 when they travel to Allendale, Michigan to face Grand Valley State University. The contest is scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m.
