The University of Findlay volleyball team knocked off The University of Illinois-Springfield 3-1 (23-25, 25-23, 25-21, 25-21) on Friday, October 14, at Aurora, Illinois, in the GLIAC/GLVC Crossover Tournament. With the first win of the tournament, Findlay improves to 7-11 in the 2011 campaign.

Samantha Granger and Danielle Taflinger led the Oilers offense with 12 kills each while Mackenzie Vorst generated 11 kills. Jessica VonIns added 38 assists in the opening match of the tournament for Findlay.

The tough Oilers defense was paced by Jacqui Endre with 11 digs and Andrea Holthaus with five blocks in the contest.

Findlay will return to action on Saturday, October 15, when the Oilers face Quincy University in the second day of the GLIAC/GLVC Crossover Tournament at Aurora, Illinois. The match is slated for 11 a.m.
