The University of Findlay volleyball team earned their first Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) victory of the season on Sep. 19 as they came away with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-10, 25-23) win over Lake Erie in Painesville, Ohio.

The Oilers hit .365 in the match and were led by freshman Amanda Winner and her 13 kills. She also recorded seven digs in the win.

Junior Hannah Tong reached the double-digit kill plateau with 12 while sophomore Nickyla Garverick added 11, hitting .550 in the match.

Senior Julie Lyons contributed seven kills and three blocks while senior Andrea Roach had two kills and a dig.

Freshman Hailee Olson came up with 40 assists while senior Becca Shoemaker and freshman Kara Scherger had 16 and 13 digs, respectively.

The Oilers will return to the court again on Sep. 25 when they travel to Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. to take on Lake Superior State at 7 p.m.
