Oilers Lose Close Battle with Yellow Jackets

The University of Findlay Men's soccer team lost on Oct. 7 on the road to Cedarville University by a score of 2-1. The Oilers are now 4-5-1 on the season and 3-3-1 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play. 

The Yellow Jackets put themselves on the board in the 17th minute when Gui Fernandes scored unassisted. The Oilers answered with a goal of their own soon after when sophomore Zach Lauron scored off an assist from sophomore Nick McCracken and sophomore Mitchell Hanosh. This gives Lauron five (5) goals on the season which is a career high for him. 

Cedarville put the game winning goal in the net in the 68th minute of the contest when Pedro Alvares scored off of an assist from Victor Pomelli.

Oilers goalkeeper, junior Andrew Boulton added 3 saves in the contest.

Findlay will be back in action at home on Oct. 9 when they will take on Walsh University at noon.
