Indianapolis, Ind.- On Friday, Nov. 17, the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) announced its' volleyball all-conference awards. The University of Findlay received four all-conference selections including two first-team selections and two second-team selections.
First Team All-Great Midwest
In her second year as a starter, sophomore
Emma White has been names as a first-team selection. Starting every match this season as Findlay's setter, White has amassed 1,199 sets this season, the highest in the conference and fourth-highest in Division II. The Tiffin, Ohio native is averaging 10.52 assists per set which also leads the league. White has run a successful offense for the Oilers as UF leads the conference in kills, averaging 12.97 with a .237 hitting percentage. This is the second consecutive year White has earned first team all-conference.
Sophomore
Kenzie Hoelscher has been maed as a first-team selection after a break through season. Hoelscher appeared and started in all thirty matches this season, making an immediate impact as a middle hitter for the Oilers. The Ft. Loramie, Ohio native is hitting an impressive .355 this season, the third-best hitting percentage in the conference. She has recorded 211 kills this season and averages 1.82 per set. Hoelscher leads the team in blocks per set, averaging 0.78. This is her first all-conference award.
Second Team All-Great Midwest
Freshman
Hannah Miller quickly solidified her role as a crucial contributor for the Orange and Black. The six rotation outside hitter, has tallied 335 kills for Findlay, averaging 2.89 per set. Miller has 281 digs to her name, averaging 2.42 digs per set. The Tiffin, Ohio native ranks fifteenth in the conference in points with 360, 3.10 per set.
Concluding Findlay's selection is freshman
Kirsten Bomholt who, picks up the first all-conference selection of her career, securing a spot on the second team. Bomholt, an outside hitter for UF, led the team in kills recording 336 this season for an average of 3.20 per set, the sixth-best average in the conference. The Versailles, Ohio native ranks seventh in the league in points, amassing 373 this season to average 3.55 per set.
