Findlay, Ohio- The University of Findlay men's golf concluded their annual Doc Spragg Fall Invitational today, Tuesday, Oct. 15 at Findlay Country Club. The two day, 54-hole event featured two nationally ranked teams #7 Grand Valley State, #23 University of Missouri- St. Louis, and Palm Beach Atlantic who is currently receiving votes in the Bushnell/Golfweek Division II Coaches Poll.
The Oilers recorded rounds of 288 (E), 279 (-9), and 299 (+11) for a 54-hole score of 866 (+2) for a third place finish. They finished 26 strokes behind the team champion, Grand Valley State University who finished the tournament at 24-under par.
Findlay was led by junior Luke Metzger who finished sixth at the event with rounds of 72 (E), 69 (-3), and 73 (+1) for a two-day total of 214 (-2). This is Merzger's third top-10 finish of the fall, through just four tournaments played.
Sophomore Colin Schadek joins Metzger in the top-10, recording a tenth place finish. He carded rounds of 73 (+1), 69 (-3), and 73 (+1).Â
Freshman Cahle Roth had a good debut at the event, with an eleventh place finish.Â

The Oilers also had a "B Team" and "C Team" in the event. The "B Team" finished 16th while the "C Team" finished 14th.
The men's golf team will be back in action as they host the Intercollegiate at Nemacolin. That event will take place Oct. 21-Oct. 22 in Farmington, Pa.
