Toccoa, Ga. - The University of Findlay women's golf team, concluded play at the Ralph Hayes Toyota D2 Elite Invitational on Tuesday, Oct. 29 at the Currahee Golf Club in Toccoa, Georgia.The Oilers faced off in one of the best fields of any tournament outside the NCAA National Championship, boasting some of the biggest names in Division II golf. Findlay, which is ranked third in the latest WGCA Coaches Poll, faced seven other top-25 programs, most notably the top-ranked, and host of the event, Anderson University. They also face fourth-ranked Wingate University, sixth-ranked Lee University, eleventh-ranked Saint Leo University, thirteenth-ranked Lynn University, eighteenth-ranked Nova Southeastern University, and nineteenth-ranked Lander University.
The Oilers took fourth in the tournament following a final round score of 302 (+11), giving Findlay a 54-hole score of 881 (+17). Anderson University, the host school, won the tournament at 860 (-4).
Sophomore
Ashleigh Duflo was the top finisher for the Oilers, firing a final round score of 74 (+2). Her three round score of 217 (+1) placed her in a tie for eighth in the event. Close behind was senior
Mary Kelly Mulcahy who, following a pair of even-par rounds, shot 74 (+2) in the event finale. She ended the tournament with a birdie on her final hole, placing her in a tie for tenth at 218 (+2).
Senior
Erin Mulcahy secured a top-20 finish among some of the nation's best, finishing with a score of 220 (+4) following a 75 (+3) on Tuesday.
This event concludes the Oilers fall season as they now wait nearly five months until they tee it up. The first spring event will be the Findlay Spring Invite on March 17-18 which will be played at Boone's Trace National Golf Club in Richmond, Kentucky.
