Dahlonega, Ga.- The University of Findlay women's golf team, ranked second in the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) Division II rankings, traveled south this week to the LeeAnn Noble Memorial in Dahlonega, Ga. on Monday, Oct. 7. The two day, 54-hole event features seven nationally ranked teams including the Oilers, #5 Anderson, #7 Wingate, #8 Saint Leo, #10 Lee, #20 North Georgia, and #24 Florida Southern.

Through 36 holes of play, Findlay is in fifth after shooting a two-round total of 584 (+8). They recorded an opening round of 305 (+17) before putting together a 279 (-9). They trail #5 Anderson by 27 after the Trojans recorded record-breaking rounds of 286 (-2) and 271 (-17) for a 36-hole total of 557 (-19).

Leading the way for Findlay was senior Mary Kelly Mulcahy who is in third at eight-under par. The Lima, Ohio native recorded an opening round 72 (E) before firing a program record 64 (-8). Her second round consisted of six birdies and an eagle. The 64 (-8) breaks Findlay's previous record of 66 (-5) which was set by Gabby Woods in 2023. The score also sets a new Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) record which was held by Woods and Tiffin's Alexis Savage. Along with the 18-hole record, M.K. Mulcahy also broke the program and conference record for 36-holes. Her score of 136 (-8) breaks Woods' record of 138 (-6) which was set last season.

Quote from Head Coach Dominic Guarnieri
After round one, we had nowhere to go but up. A day like today is something we can learn from and make sure it doesn't happen again. Mary Kelly—she's just a fighter, resilient and patient, letting things come to her. It was incredible to watch her shoot a bogey-free 64 and break the school record!

The Oilers will be back for the final round Tuesday, Oct. 8 with a shotgun start at 9am.
