Richmond, Ky. - The University of Findlay women's golf team is playing host to the Findlay Spring Invite which began on Monday, March 18 at the Boone's Trace National Golf Club. Play was suspended in the second round due to darkness and will be resumed tomorrow morning. Through 29 holes, Findlay, ranked fourth in the country, sits atop the leaderboard at +7 after shooting 298 (+10) in the first round before going three-under through 11 holes of the second.
The tournament is hosting three top-25 teams. Anderson University, ranked sixth, is in second while Indianapolis, ranked seventh, is in third. Limestone University, ranked 17th in the country, sits in fifth.
Junior Mary Kelly Mulcahy, the top-ranked individual in Division II, led the Oilers and the field. She recorded an opening round 73 (+1) and is currently three-under par in round two. She leads the field by one stroke.
Senior Gabby Woods is also atop the leaderboard as she is tied for second. Woods opened the day with a 76 (+4) but is now five-under par in round two with seven holes remaining. Her second round included three birdies and an eagle.
Sophomore Hayley Dye is in the top-ten at four-over par. She carded an opening round 74 (+2) and is currently two-over par in round two.
The Oilers will resume round two at 10:30am, Tuesday, March 18. After the completion of round two, they will begin the final round.
