Saint Louis, Mo.- The University of Findlay women's golf team, ranked third in the country, finished runner-up at the the UMSL Spring Invitational which was hosted by Missouri- St. Louis at the par 71, 5,800 yard, Norwood Hills Country Club. The Oilers recorded a final round 293 (+9) on Monday, April 15. That score is tied for the seventh-best 54-hole mark in program history.
Leading the Oilers was junior
Mary Kelly Mulcahy who picked up medalist honors, winning her sixth event of the year and program record ninth of her career. M. Mulcahy fired a final round 71 (E) to claim the title at 210 (-3) for the event. That 54-hole total is tied for second-best at Findlay and is the second time in her career that she has achieved that score.
Senior
Gabby Woods earned all-tournament honors by snagging a third place finish. She concluded her tournament with a 72 (+1) on Monday to finish with a 213 (E), the fourth-best 54-hole score in program history.
Finishing in the top-15 in the event were junior
Erin Mulcahy and freshman
Ashleigh Duflo. E. Mulcahy shot 76 (+5) while Duflo carded her best round of the event, a 74 (+3). The two finished T12 and T14, respectively.
The Oilers' regular season has concluded and the team now focuses its' attention to the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Championship in Owensboro, Ky. on April 25-27.
