Metzger Wins Get To Foundation Invitational | Team Finishes Runner-Up

Plymouth, Mich.- The University of Findlay men's golf team finished second at the Get to Foundation Invitational hosted by Hillsdale College on Tuesday, Sep. 17. The Oilers recorded scores of 291 (+3),293 (+5), 296 (+8) for a 54-hole score of 880 (+16). They finished one stroke back of tournament champion Wayne State, who fired a 285 (-3) to slide up three spots on the leaderboard.

Winning the individual title in playoff fashion was junior Luke Metzger. The Mason, Ohio native made par on the second playoff hole to seal the win over Hillsdale's Robert Thompson. The first time champion recorded rounds of 73 (+1), 70 (-2), and 73 (+1) for a 54-hole score of 216 (E).

Freshman Cahle Roth, who competed as an individual in the event, recorded a top-five finish. He carded rounds of 73 (+1), 72 (E), and 73 (+1) for a 54-hole score of 218 (+2).

The Oilers will be back in action Sep. 23- Sep. 24 as they travel to Gainesville, Ga. for the Mizuno Intercollegiate, hosted by North Georgia.
