Saginaw, Michigan – The Oiler men's golf team opened play at the Al Watrous Invitation on Saturday, Sep. 7. Hosted by Saginaw Valley University at the Sawmill Golf Club, the invitation has a field of fourteen. At the end of the first day of eighteen-hole play, the Oiler's lead the way, finishing with a score of 288 (E).
Leading the way for the Oilers is sophomore Colin Schadek, who finished day one in first place with a 68 (-4).
Also sitting in the top-ten after the first round of play is freshman Tate Armstrong with a score of –2 (2nd) and sophomore Jack Gerker who finished at E (6th).
The Oilers traveled two teams to the event, with the "B Team" finishing with a score of 304 (+16).
The teams will be back in action tomorrow, Saturday, Sep. 8, as they try to secure their first team win since last spring.
