#2 Women's Golf Opens Season at the GCU Women's Invitational

Phoenix, Ariz.- The University of Findlay women's golf team, ranked second in the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) Coaches Poll, opened its spring season at the GCU Women's Invitational, hosted by Division I Grand Canyon University. The 54-hole event is being held at GCU Golf Course, with 36 holes played today, Tuesday, Feb. 25.

After the first day, the Oilers sit in third place at seven-over par after posting rounds of 290 (+2) and 293 (+5). Findlay is ten strokes behind the University of California-Irvine and 12 back of day-one leader Grand Canyon University, which sits at five-under par.

Senior Mary Kelly Mulcahy paced the Oilers with consecutive rounds of 71 (-1). The Lima, Ohio, native sits at two-under par, tied for third, just two shots behind leader Calynne Rosholt of Grand Canyon University at four-under.

Junior Hayley Dye is tied for ninth at even par after posting rounds of 71 (-1) and 73 (+1).
