Monroe, NC - The University of Findlay men's golf team kicked off the spring portion of their season on Monday, March 17 in Monroe, North Carolina at the Ralph Hargett Memorial Intercollegiate. The tournament will be played over two days at Rolling Hills Country Club which is a Par 72 course playing at 6,818 yards for this weeks tournament. The field consists of 16 teams including nationally ranked #5 Grand Valley State, #12 Wingate, #15 USC Beaufort, and #25 Lenoir-Rhyne.
Through two rounds, the Oilers sit in ninth place after rounds of 293 (+5) and 298 (+10) for a score of 591 (+15).
Freshman
Cahle Roth is leading the way for Findlay, currently in T19 on the individual leaderboard at even-par (144). He opened the day with a 68 (-4) that included a stretch of five birdies in seven holes and followed that up with a second-round 76 (+4).
Junior
Luke Metzger and sophomore
Colin Schadek are tied for 37th at 147 (+3). Metzger posted rounds of 74 (+2) and 73 (+1) while Schadek opened with a 76 (+4) to start the day but recovered with a round of 71 (-1) in his final 18 of the day.
Play will conclude with one more round tomorrow, March 18.
