Richmond, Ky.- The University of Findlay women's golf team is playing host to the Findlay Spring Invite which began on Monday, March 17 at the Boone's Trace National Golf Club. Play was suspended in the second round due to darkness and will be resumed tomorrow morning. The fourth-ranked Oilers were one of nine teams to complete all 36 holes, finishing the day in second place at three-under par. They posted rounds of 287 (-1) and 286 (-2) for a 36-hole total of 573 (-3), matching the program record.
The top-ranked Anderson Trojans sit atop the leaderboard at four-under par, holding a one-shot lead heading into the final day. They posted rounds of 291 (+3) and 281 (-7).
Junior Hayley Dye and senior Mary Kelly Mulcahy led the Oilers, both tied for second at three-under par. Dye posted rounds of 71 (-1) and 70 (-2), while Mulcahy shot 70 (-2) and 71 (-1). Anderson's Kennedy McGaha leads the tournament at eleven-under par after rounds of 67 (-5) and 66 (-6).
Sophomore Ashleigh Duflo is tied for fifth at one-over par. She carded rounds of 73 (+1) and 72 (E).
Findlay's "B Team" is also competing in the event, currently sitting fifth out of 14 teams. Leading that team was freshman Avery Thompson who is three-over par. She recorded rounds of 74 (+2) and 73 (+1).
