Monroe, NC - The University of Findlay men's golf team wrapped up play in North Carolina at the Ralph Hargett Memorial Intercollegiate on Tuesday, March 18. The tournament was played over two days at Rolling Hills Country Club which is a Par 72 course playing at 6,818 yards for the tournament. The field consisted of 16 teams including nationally ranked #5 Grand Valley State, #12 Wingate, #15 USC Beaufort, and #25 Lenoir-Rhyne.
Findlay dropped one spot on Tuesday to finish the event in 10th with a score of 882 (+18), adding a 291 (+3) to their total in the final round. That score in the third round was the team's best of the three-round event.
Junior
Luke Metzger jumped 14 spots in the individual standings, finishing the tournament in T23 with a 54-hole score of 217 (+1). He saved his best round for last as he turned in the team's low round of the day, a 70 (-2) on Tuesday. Just behind him was freshman
Cahle Roth who shot a two-over 74 on Tuesday that included six birdies. That score placed Roth in T26 with a 218 (+2).
Colin Schadek rounded out Findlay's players in the top-50 of the tournament as the sophomore shot a final round 74 (+2) to place in T43. His three-round score was a 221 (+5).
Findlay will be back in action on Monday and Tuesday, March 24-25 at the Findlay Spring Invite which is held at Boone's Trace National Golf Club in Richmond, Ky.
