Men's Golf Finishes Ninth at the Findianapolis Intercollegiate

Laconia, Ind.- The University of Findlay men's golf team finished ninth at the Findianapolis Intercollegiate which concluded Tuesday, April 1. The event, which is co-hosted by Findlay and the University of Indianapolis, was held at Chariot Run Golf Course, a par-72 course measuring 7,169 yards.

The Oilers posted rounds of 298 (+10), 298 (+10), and 295 (+7) for a 54-hole score of 891 (+27), good for ninth in the ten team field. The University of Charleston, a member of the Mountain East Conference, won the event with a 54-hole score of 869 (+5).

As he has all season, junior Luke Metzger secured a top-five finish for the third time this year and the second consecutive tournament. He led the team with rounds of 73 (+1), 71 (-1), and 71 (-1) for a three-day total of 215 (-1), leaving him in a tie for fifth.

Freshman Cahle Roth snuck into the top-30 today with a final round 73 (+1). His rounds of 78 (+6), 74 (+2), and 73 (+1) leave him in a tie for 28th at nine-over par.

The Oilers will be back in action on April 13 and April 14 as they travel to Dayton, Ohio for teh Wright State Invitational.
