Annika Gels Hired as Softball Assistant Coach

Findlay, Ohio – The University of Findlay Athletics Department has hired Annika Gels as the new assistant coach for the Oiler softball program.

"We're excited to add Annika to our coaching staff," said head coach Danielle Lowe. "Her experience working with pitchers at both the collegiate and high school levels, paired with her own success as a student-athlete, will make her a valuable asset to our team."

Gels comes to Findlay after serving as the pitching coach at Quincy University, where she played an integral role in daily practices, pitching development, in-game calling, and opponent scouting. She also contributed to recruiting efforts and helped manage the program's social media presence.

Prior to her time at Quincy, Gels was the pitching coach at Beechwood High School and a longtime pitching instructor at Triple Play Training in Miamisburg, Ohio. She also worked as a student assistant at Thomas More University, where she created pitching workouts, assisted with scouting, and supported recruiting and game day operations.

A native of Eaton, Ohio, Gels played five seasons at Thomas More University from 2020 to 2025. She graduated as one of the program's most accomplished pitchers, finishing her career ranked in the top six in wins, saves, strikeouts, and innings pitched. She earned multiple academic and all-conference honors throughout her career.
