Findlay, Ohio – The University of Findlay track and field teams hosted the 2026 Flag City Tune Up on Friday, February 20 in the Koehler Fitness and Recreation Center.
This marked the final meet before the teams travel to Ashland, Ohio for the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Championship next week, Feb. 26-27.
Top Women's Results
- The highlight of the night came in the 60m dash where standout Leah Smith (Jr.) took the top spot with a time of 7.37, the sixth-fastest time in the country this year, a new facility and meet record, and a new school record.
- Colleen Steinmetz (So.) won pole vault with the seventh-best mark in the country this year, a 4.11m (13'5.75") jump. That mark is a personal best and moves Steinmetz into second on UF's indoor pole vault list and is also just .01m shy of the meet record set in 2013 by Olympic gold medalist, Katie (Nageotte) Moon. Also meeting NCAA provisionals in the event were Victoria Harvey (Jr.) (4.02m | 13'2.25"), Brayden Snider (Fr.) (3.97m | 13'0.25"), and Erin Moran (So.) (3.72m | 12'2.50").
- Ashley Sigmon (Sr.) won the high jump with a height of 1.68m (5'6.25") which meets the NCAA provisional standard.
- Katelyn Heath (Sr.) and Taylor Aldredge (Fr.) tied for the top spot in the long jump, reaching a distance of 5.43m (17'9.75"). Aldredge reached that mark on her fourth attempt while Heath pulled even with that number on her sixth and final attempt.
- Jessica Hoban (Gr.) won the triple jump with an NCAA provisional mark of 11.78m (38'7.75").
- Claire Bachman (Sr.) won the mile run with a time of 5:19.06. Olivia Fenbert (Jr.) was close behind, finishing second with a 5:20.96.
- Gloria Mengolo (So.) won the 60m hurdles with an NCAA provisional time of 8.83.
- Helen Unger (So.) was a winner in the 400m dash with a mark of 59.67, the only athlete to come in under one minute.
- Mary Ellis (Jr.) won the 200m dash with a time of 25.32.
Top Men's Results
- Eyan Wilson (Sr.) was a winner in the shot put as his fifth attempt was the longest of the night, reaching 17.80m (58'4.75"), surpassing the NCAA provisional mark.
- Leyton Nossa (Sr.) finished runner-up in the weight throw with an NCAA provisional distance of 20.26m (66'6.00").
- Alex Mutchler (Sr.) won the pole vault, leading four NCAA provisional marks for the Oilers. Mutchler cleared 5.15m (16'10.75") to take top spot. Evan Combs (Fr.) (5.05m | 16'6.75"), Panashe Chavi (Fr.) (5.05m | 16'6.75"), and Nate Buschur (Jr.) (4.90m | 16'1.00") all met the NCAA provisional height.
- Evan Kreais (So.) and Trey Boblitt (Sr.) tied for the top spot in high jump, each clearing a height of 1.93m (6'4.00").
- Joel Stirn (Fr.) won the long jump with his first jump of the night, a 6.84m (22'5.25") effort.
- Stirn also won the triple jump, reaching a distance of 12.58m (41'3.25")
- Julian Griffin (Gr.) won the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.05, meeting the NCAA provisional mark.
- KJ Upshaw (Sr.) upped his personal-best in the 60m dash, winning the race with an NCAA provisional time of 6.73.
- Caden Ehgotz (So.) won the 800m run with a time of 1:57.08.
- Brandon Richardson (Jr.) won the 400m dash with a time of 49.86, the only athlete to break the 50-second mark.
- RJ Adkins (Fr.) took the top spot in the 200m dash with a time of 23.22.
