Jared Krout Steps Down as Head Track and Field Coach

Findlay, Ohio– A member of the University of Findlay track and field staff since 2018, Head Coach Jared Krout has decided to step down from his position at the head of both the men's and women's programs. Krout spent four years as an assistant coach before taking the reins of the program for five seasons, departing Findlay after leading the track and field programs to sustained national success.

"Jared has been a tremendous representative of Findlay Athletics throughout his time here," said Director of Athletics, Jim Givens. "His dedication to our student-athletes and his commitment to maintaining the championship tradition of our track and field programs have been invaluable. We are grateful for the impact he has made on our department and wish Jared and his family nothing but the best in their next chapter."

During his tenure as head coach, Krout collected seven G-MAC Coach of the Year awards, including two Men's Indoor, two Women's Indoor, one Men's Outdoor and two Women's Outdoor honors. He also was named the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Midwest Region Women's Coach of the Year in 2024. He led the squads to six Great Midwest titles across both indoor and outdoor seasons.

During his tenure with the program, Krout has coached his athletes to 108 all-American accolades and 124 Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) individual championship titles. He also mentored eight G-MAC Athletes of the Year and five G-MAC Freshmen of the Year.

"A big thank you to the University of Findlay and the administration for the opportunity to lead this program," Krout commented. "I will always be grateful for this experience. Thank you to all of the athletes, coaches, and families who have helped make this program what it is today. I wish everyone success as the program moves into its next chapter."
