About the Oilers
The track and field teams have built a legacy of success and enter the championship as strong contenders once again. The women's team previously claimed titles in 2023 and 2022, while the men's team has secured championships in 2023, 2022, 2021, and 2018.
The 24th-ranked men's team has firmly established itself as a dominant force within the conference. Senior
Leyton Nossa paces the squad, ranking sixth nationally in the weight throw. In the pole vault — an event in which Findlay has long excelled — freshman
Evan Combs and senior
Alex Mutchler sit seventh and ninth in the national rankings. Fellow thrower senior
Eyan Wilson joins Nossa among the nation's best, placing eleventh in the shot put to bolster an already strong throwing group. In addition, three other Oilers hold marks in their respective events that rank among the top 25 nationally.
The 13th-ranked Oilers women's team, according to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Rating Index, has solidified its position atop the conference while making a significant impact nationally. The squad boasts multiple top marks, highlighted by the 4x400 relay team, which owns the third-fastest time in the country this season at 3:41.51. Individually, junior Leah Smith, one of the nation's premier sprinters, ranks seventh in the 60m and ninth in the 200m. The pole vault, a traditionally dominant event for Findlay, features four Oilers ranked among the top 25 nationally, including standouts sophomore Colleen Steinmetz and junior Victoria Harvey, whose best clearances are tied for ninth in the country. In addition, four more Findlay athletes hold marks that rank within the top 35 nationally.

Quote from Head Coach Jared Krout
"I have been very pleased with the season we have had so far this year. We graduated a large group of seniors last year, so it has been good to see some returners step in to fill those spots and some of our new additions step in and be able to contribute as well. It is going to take everyone on our team performing their best in order for us to win this week. We are capable, but do not have a lot of room for error in this year's meet. The goal this week is the same as it always is for us, and that is to compete hard and give 100% effort in everything that we do. In this sport, we can only control ourselves, so we have to focus on being our best and letting the results come. The message this week and all year is that it is going to take everyone for us to have a chance to accomplish what we want to accomplish. As an individual, we need your best for the team, and as a team we need to help each individual be their best."
