Hillsdale, Mich - The University of Findlay men's and women's track and field teams kicked off the 2026 Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Outdoor Championship on April 29 at Hayden Park, hosted by Hillsdale College. Both teams sit in fifth place after the opening day of competition. Just six events were completed on the first of three days.
Men
- Asher Long (Fr.) finished fifth in the 10000 meter run with a time of 30:49.72
- Leyton Nossa (Jr.) put in a strong effort in the hammer throw and earned a fifth place finish with a NCAA provisional of 58.97m while Collin Warner (Sr.) placed sixth and also earned a NCAA provisional at 58.89m.
- Charlie Schmiesing (Fr.) finished ninth with 56.21m and Lucas Recker (Fr.) placed 29th with 41.99m.
Women
- Claire Bachman (Sr.) put in up a good showing in the 10000 meter run and earned herself a seventh place finish with a time of 37:44.75
- Ava Keifer (Sr.) finished 12th in the hammer throw with a 38.77m while Brenna McDonald (Fr.) finished 14th with a 37.70m.
The Oilers will be back in action again tomorrow for the second day of the three day championship event.
