Kyle Niermann Named Finalist for Inaugural FloCollege CSC Spotlight Award

Austin, Texas- Kyle Niermann, assistant athletic director for external affairs at the University of Findlay, has been named a finalist for the inaugural FloCollege CSC Spotlight Award. Announced by FloSports vice president and general manager John Turner, the new program honors premier sports communicators across FloCollege partner conferences.

Now in his 11th year at Findlay, Niermann has spearheaded the university's digital media expansion. He played a pivotal role in launching Findlay's digital network — a conference-wide initiative designed to amplify the visibility of student-athletes. A true utility player in live sports production, Niermann handles everything from equipment setup, camera work and directing to producing and calling play-by-play.

Alongside UFTV, the university's production department, he has dedicated countless hours to elevating the quality of campus broadcasts. Additionally, Niermann and the UFTV staff provide comprehensive coverage of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference baseball and softball championships every season.

"Kyle has been instrumental in growing the reach and reputation of Findlay Athletics through his leadership in digital media and broadcasting," said Director of Athletics Jim Givens. "His dedication to telling the stories of our student-athletes and enhancing the fan experience has made a lasting impact on our department. This recognition is well deserved, and we couldn't be more proud of him."

The FloCollege CSC Spotlight Award celebrates athletic communicators and College Sports Communicators (CSC) staff who consistently go above and beyond to elevate their programs, institutions and student-athletes through strategic storytelling, advocacy and high-quality broadcast production. The honor highlights individuals who set the standard in the profession by building meaningful relationships, navigating crises with professionalism and championing the achievements of those they serve.

Each finalist will receive $500, with one grand prize winner taking home $5,000. The grand prize winner will be announced at the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) convention and celebrated at a FloCollege reception June 9 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

The award highlights FloSports' ongoing investment in college athletics, particularly at the Division II and Division III levels. The company has committed more than $75 million to FloCollege partners to cover rights fees, broadcast infrastructure, original content, product development and marketing to deliver a premium experience across all devices. FloCollege currently represents 20 NCAA conferences, along with several high-profile Division I multiple-team events.
