Findlay Competes on Day 2 of Penn Relays

The University of Findlay men's and women's track and field teams were busy on Friday, April 25th as they had athletes competing on Day 2 of the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, PA and on Day 1 of the Ashland Alumni Open in Ashland, OH.

Penn Relays    Results

Women

The combination of freshman Kadesha Roberts, freshman Adrianna Powell-Lawrence, junior Shelby Stump, and sophomore Samantha Grippe competed in the sprint medley and finished in 31st with a time of 4:09.64.

Men

Junior Justin Welch, who will compete in his specialty, the hammer throw, tomorrow at 1:15pm, participated in the discus throw and took fourth place of 26 with his throw of 53.26m (174'8"). This toss meets the provisional mark set by the NCAA.

Another NCAA provisional was met in the long jump by freshman Alexander Zolotoglavy. He finished in seventh place with a jump that distanced 7.39m (24'3").

The indoor all-American distance medley relay team of junior Dillon Webster, sophomore Kyle Smithey, junior Jacob Hayes, and senior Justin Eilerman ran the DMR and finished 24th with a time of 10:27.24.

There were no results from the Ashland Alumni meet at the time of publication.
