Oilers Advance with 11-4 Win over Lake Erie

The University of Findlay women's lacrosse team advanced to the semifinals of the 2016 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Tournament with an 11-4 win over Lake Erie on May 3 at the Armstrong Sports Complex. The win gives them an 11-7 record on the season and sets up a match with Tiffin on May 6 at 4pm in Allendale, Mich.

The Oilers jumped out to a 7-2 lead in the opening half and cruised through the second half as sophomore goalkeeper Rachel Heath turned in another dominating performance. Heath racked up 13 saves in the victory and only allowed four balls to find the back of the net.

Junior Kyra Bradley paced the offense with five goals while senior Sarah Lankton and sophomore Olivia Sherman scored two goals apiece.

Freshman Brie Caruso and senior Mackenzie Barnwell added the Oilers other goals while freshman Hannah Peebles had a team-high two assists.
