Findlay, Ohio- The University of Findlay has announced the hiring of Jordan Blackburne as the next head coach of the Oilers women's lacrosse program. Blackburne becomes the sixth head coach in program history and brings a strong background in NCAA coaching, recruiting, student-athlete development, and program administration to Findlay.

Blackburne joins the Oilers after serving as an assistant women's lacrosse coach at The University of Virginia's College at Wise, a Division II institution in Wise, Va., where she helped lead the Cavaliers to back-to-back South Atlantic Conference (SAC) Tournament quarterfinal appearances in 2024 and 2025. During her tenure, the program achieved unprecedented academic success, raising its team GPA to a program-record 3.56 while producing 18 SAC Academic Honor Roll selections, the most of any sport at the institution.

In addition to her work on the field, Blackburne played a key role in recruiting, fundraising, practice planning, academic oversight, compliance, and player development. She helped the Cavaliers secure multiple All-Conference performers while raising more than $20,000 through fundraising initiatives, camps, clinics, and online team stores. 

Prior to Virginia-Wise, Blackburne served as head women's lacrosse coach at Bethany College, a Division III institution in Bethany, W. Va., where she directed all aspects of the program. Despite operating without a full-time assistant coach, she led the Bison to the best start in program history, guided the team to a national NCAA Division III statistical title in ground balls per game, and helped elevate the team's GPA from 3.22 to a program-record 3.58. Her leadership also produced multiple all-Conference selections and conference award nominees.

A native of Indianapolis, Ind., Blackburne earned a bachelor's degree in business management with a marketing focus from Earlham College and before earning her Master's of Education degree from Bethany College.
