Findlay, Ohio – The University of Findlay women's tennis team, ranked #27 in the country in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), extended its' winning streak to eight consecutive matches with a victory over Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) rival Hillsdale College on Sunday, March 19. The Oilers made it a clean sweep, winning 5-0 to improve to 11-4 on the year and 2-0 in conference action.
Findlay's lone loss of the day came at first doubles, but wins and second and third doubles still gave the Oilers a 1-0 lead through the first portion of the dual.
Zuzanna Krygier was first to finish at fourth singles, dominating her opponent to the tun of a 6-2, 6-4 victory. Then, at first singles, Elina Ivanova cashed in with another victory, defeating Hillsdale's Sara Hackman 6-2, 6-3.
With a 3-0 lead, the match was clinched seven minutes later with a win at third singles by Emily Hadler, who clinched yesterday's victory vs Northwood, as well. Hadler won 7-5 in the first set before a 6-4 victory in the second.
Findlay's final win came at second singles as Anamarija Kovacevic took down Melanie Zampardo 7-6 (7-4, 6-4.
